Welcome! First-time waxing is completely normal, and our estheticians are experienced at making new clients feel at ease. You'll be taken to a private room, given a moment to prepare, and your esthetician will walk you through every step before they begin. Most clients are surprised by how manageable the experience is — especially when they return regularly. After you book, you'll receive a text with your appointment details and a release form you can fill out before you arrive or at your appointment — you'll be asked to sign this at every visit. A reminder text is sent 2 days before and a confirmation text the day of your appointment. Please confirm so we know you're coming.
Not at all — and we hear this question often. We welcome all bodies — all shapes, sizes, and stages — and our goal is always the same: to make you feel comfortable, confident, and completely at ease. Our estheticians are licensed professionals who perform these services every day. To them, it's simply their craft. You'll be treated with complete respect and discretion. On your period? No problem. We will work around the string. Many clients who were nervous before their first visit become regulars because of how comfortable the experience actually is.
Hair should be at least ¼ inch long — roughly 10 days of growth after shaving, or 3 to 4 weeks after waxing. If it's too short, the wax won't grip properly. If it's longer than ½ inch, we may trim it before waxing. When in doubt, let it grow a bit more than you think you need.
Yes! Let hair grow to at least ¼ inch (about 10 days from shaving). Gently exfoliate the area 24–48 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells. Avoid applying lotion or oils on the day of your appointment. If you use retinol or AHAs, discontinue use on the area for at least 5–7 days before. Note: if you are on Accutane, you cannot be waxed — please let us know.
There is some discomfort — we won't pretend otherwise. But most clients describe it as a quick, sharp sensation that passes immediately. The good news: it gets significantly easier with each visit as hair grows back finer and sparser. Regular clients often say their appointments feel much more comfortable than their first experience.
Take an over-the-counter pain reliever (like ibuprofen) 30–45 minutes before your appointment. Make sure your skin is clean and dry. Breathe steadily during the service — our estheticians will often guide your breathing. And remember: it gets easier every time.
For the first 24–48 hours: don't swim in Utah Lake (or any pool/hot tub); avoid sun exposure on waxed areas; skip saunas and steam rooms. After 48 hours, begin gentle exfoliation 2–3 times per week to prevent ingrown hairs. Moisturize daily with a fragrance-free lotion.
Regular exfoliation is the key. Starting 48 hours after your wax, gently exfoliate the waxed area 2–3 times per week using a soft scrub or exfoliating mitt. Moisturize daily. Ask your esthetician about PFB — a $3 sample-size ingrown hair treatment we apply after Brazilian services that you can take home for continued care. With regular waxing appointments, ingrown hairs typically become less of an issue over time.
Most clients enjoy smooth skin for 3–6 weeks, depending on their individual hair growth cycle. With regular waxing, hair grows back finer and sparser over time, which means longer-lasting results. We recommend booking your next appointment before you leave to maintain your results.

There is no universal date for returning to waxing after delivery. Follow your OB-GYN, midwife, or other maternal-care provider’s guidance, especially after a C-section, tear, episiotomy, or complication. Do not wax over or near open, tender, irritated, or incompletely healed skin. When you feel ready, tell your esthetician that you are postpartum and identify any areas you would like to avoid.
