The 3 Worst Things You Can See in a Waxing Salon (And What to Look For Instead)

A dirty sink. A messy workstation. An unhappy esthetician. These are the three biggest red flags in any waxing salon — and why Wax Me Too's strict sanitation standards have made us Utah's most trusted waxing studio since 2007.

Not all waxing salons are created equal. In an industry with minimal regulation and wide variation in standards, knowing what to look for — and what to avoid — can make the difference between a great experience and a nightmare. Here are the 3 worst things a waxing salon can do, and why you'll never encounter them at Wax Me Too.

What to avoid at a waxing salon red flags

1. Double-Dipping

Double-dipping — reusing the same applicator stick in the wax pot after it's touched a client's skin — is the single most egregious hygiene violation in the waxing industry. Every time a used applicator goes back into the wax pot, bacteria from the previous client's skin are introduced into the wax. That wax then gets applied to the next client.

At Wax Me Too, we use a fresh, single-use applicator for every application. No exceptions, no shortcuts. This is non-negotiable.

2. No Sink in the Treatment Room

Your esthetician should wash her hands in front of you before beginning any service. If there's no sink in the treatment room, that's simply not possible. A salon without sinks in treatment rooms is a salon that's cutting corners on hygiene.

Every Wax Me Too treatment room is equipped with a sink. You'll see your esthetician wash her hands before she touches you — every single time.

3. Rushing Through Services

A Brazilian wax that's rushed is a Brazilian wax that's incomplete. Estheticians who are overbooked or undertrained often rush through services, leaving hairs behind and clients feeling unsatisfied.

At Wax Me Too, we schedule Brazilian waxes for 30-minute appointments even though the service typically takes 15 minutes. You'll never feel rushed, and you'll never leave with hairs we missed.

The Wax Me Too Standard

These aren't just policies — they're the foundation of everything we do. Book at waxmetoo.com and experience the difference that genuine standards make.
